My NJ license in Professional Counseling qualifies me to provide counseling and therapy to individuals of all ages, as well as to couples and families.

In addition to earning my Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University, I received advanced clinical training in systemic couples and family therapy at the Center for Family, Community, and Social Justice. I have also completed the advanced level 2 training in EMDR provided by the EMDR Institute. UMDNJ has certified me in Posttraumatic Stress Management and I am a graduate of Rutgers Certificate Program in Adoption.

My most recent postgraduate trainings in relationship therapy include intensives with Susan Johnson, Ed.D, professor of psychology and instructor of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy as well as Brent Atkinson, Ph.D., director of the Couples Research Institute. My therapeutic approach with couples includes systemic intervention integrated with Imago principles.

I have an eclectic therapeutic approach to helping my clients, depending on what you need help with and what will work best for you. I believe in working as a team with my clients. I'm the expert in mental health, but you're the expert on yourself. Together we come up with a plan and an approach that fits you as the unique individual you are. Some of these approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, systemic family and couples therapy, EMDR, insight oriented therapy, and solution focused interventions.

My work experience has encompassed womens' issues, adolescents, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, relationships, and stepfamilies. I particularly enjoy helping couples to create and achieve a relationship vision that brings them joy.

In addition to my private practice, I direct a school based teen counseling program and supervise my staff clinicians on a regular basis. I also have had several years of experience supervising masters level therapists in therapeutic intervention, case formulation, and ethical and legal issues. I really enjoy this aspect of my work, and offer private group and individual clinical supervision to masters level counselors working toward their LPC.

Personal Interests: creative writing, reading, gourmet cooking , interior decorating and, most of all, travel. My absolute favorite places are the Amalfi Coast in Italy and Wroxton, England.
